We attended site following a blockage to an outside drain, where a build-up of tissue and debris was restricting the flow and preventing the drainage system from working as it should.
Our approach to getting things flowing again:
Blockage clearance – We cleared the blockage, removing the tissue and debris causing the obstruction.
CCTV drain inspection – Once cleared, we carried out a CCTV inspection of the gully to check its condition and look for any visible issues.
Dye testing – We then dye tested the drainage system to confirm the flow path and ensure the drain was free-flowing following our works.
With the blockage removed and the necessary checks completed, we were able to confirm that the drain was flowing freely again.

Another nasty blockage successfully cleared for a customer!
We attended a property where the gully was completely blocked and overflowing with foul waste and tissues, causing wastewater to back up and spill over around the gully.
After clearing the blockage, we were able to get everything flowing freely again and leave the drainage system operating as it should.
Still got old clay gullies? It could be worth considering an upgrade.
Older clay gullies are typically fitted with a trapped design, which means that when there is an issue beyond the trap, it can prevent us from getting our CCTV camera through to properly inspect the pipework.
This is where a modern rodable gully can make a big difference.
By replacing an old clay gully with a rodable gully, you give yourself much better access to the drainage system. If a blockage occurs further down the line, we have an additional access point to work from — making it easier to rod, clear and investigate the drain when needed.
It might seem like a small upgrade, but having that extra access can make a huge difference when dealing with future blockages or drainage problems.
Good drainage isn’t just about clearing a blockage — it’s about making sure your system is accessible and maintainable for the future.
